Scratchclart and :3LON share new track and music video

Scratchclart (fka Scratcha DVA) has shared the opening song from his upcoming EP ‘Afrotek’.

Titled ‘Flex’, the track sees emerging Baltimore artist :3LON lay silky vocals over the Hyperdub mainstay’s icy amapiano-inspired production.

The tune sets the tone for the rest of the record, wherein the duo fuse elements of grime and UK funky with gqom and amapiano across five songs.

To launch ‘Flex’, the pair have released an accompanying music video. Working with director and videographer Antonio Hernandez, :3LON takes on creative direction duties whilst Scratchclart is in charge of production.

Whilst Scratchclart has long been a UK underground favourite, :3LON is swiftly being recognised as an exciting new figure on the scene. Last week, their contribution to SHERELLE’s new compilation ‘BEAUTIFUL PRESENTS: BEAUTIFUL VOL 1’ was premiered on Mary Anne Hobb’s 6 Music show. Later this year, the vocalist and producer is set to team up with LSDXOXO.

‘Flex’ is available to listeners this Friday. The full EP will follow on September 3 via Hyperdub.
