LA-based R&B vocalist Rochelle Jordan (pictured) has teamed up with Toronto electronic outfit Keys N Krates on a new single that marks both artists’ debut on Melvo Baptiste’s The Remedy Project.

‘What You Done’ is a soulful, melodic cut layered over silky basslines and transcending keys, with percussive sounds sprinkled throughout. The track has been teased for the last 12 months by Rochelle at her shows, and is due out on July 21. The intimate lyrics are cocooned in her velvety vocals, strapped in by slick, crisp production.

“‘What You Done’ is a track I’ve had on hold for a while now,” says the Canada-born singer-songwriter Rochelle Jordan. “I’ve been performing it for over a year to test the water while my day ones have been steady asking me to put it out. So I’m very excited to see it finally drop, and in the summer because that’s exactly what it feels like to me. Much Love to my Canadian brothers Keys N Krates for this one!”

Jordan accurately says the record is one that “feels exactly like summer”. Its beautiful production makes it a perfect soundtrack to both the dancefloor and in headphones.

Keys N Krates began as a live hip hop act, releasing their debut EP on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak imprint. The first single from this was introduced to a wider audience when it debuted on BBC Radio 1, gaining support from electronic music heavyweights like Diplo and Flosstradamus.

Since then, they’ve developed their sound and collaborated with the likes of Katy B and Juicy J, including being featured on Diplo’s label Mad Decent.
