Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has quoted a Pusha T lyric in a recent tweet celebrating victories over Russia.

Yesterday Ukraine’s ministry shared a tweet with visuals displaying “total combat losses of the enemy [Russia] from 24 February to 7 September” with the caption “Numbers On The Board” tagging Pusha T.

Pusha released ‘Numbers on the Board’ in 2013 on his debut studio album, ‘My Name Is My Name’.

Since this post, Pusha has retweeted it with the caption, “Great taste in music for the win…”

Previously, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has used other stars' lyrics in their posts including Queen, Bananarama and The Game.

Not only has the defence force been using lyrics but also lines from films such as Rambo, The Big Lebowski and Pulp Fiction as well as quotes from people including Shakespeare and Mike Tyson

Last month Ukrainians marked 31 years of independence from the Soviet Union with a huge rave in the neighbouring Lithuanian capital Vilnius.

The rave took place near the River Neris in Vilnius last week, VICE reports, with organisers fearing for the safety of attendees if it went ahead in Kyiv as Russian troops continue to occupy the surrounding areas.

The rave marked the official Ukrainian Independence Day, which also coincided last week with six months since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
