Michael Bibi leaves hospital feeling ‘tired but happy’ after completing his main cancer treatment
Bibi has been in hospital for over 100 days fighting (CNS) lymphoma, a rare form of brain and spine cancer
Michael Bibi has shared an update on his health condition, after revealing earlier this year he has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as (CNS) lymphoma which is found in the brain and spine.
The 33-year-old has now left hospital after completing his main cancer treatment.
“When I first came into hospital I was barely able to walk,” Bibi shared on Instagram yesterday with an image of himself outside the hospital.
His caption continued: “Today I walk out with a smile having completed my main treatment. tired but happy…My fight against cancer is not over…but for now a break & some extra time to enjoy life.”
Bibi announced his diagnosis in June after he had previously confirmed that he would no longer be playing any shows for the “foreseeable future” including his Solid Grooves residency at Ibiza’s DC-10.
On the DJ’s birthday, not long after his diagnosis, he revealed that his first round of treatment was complete and that the tumour had reduced by 40%.
The Solid Grooves label owner has shared updates on his progress including a post in mid-July, sharing that after “10 weeks in a hospital bed,” he had been released for a short break as his treatment was continuing to go well.
A video earlier this month marked Bibi’s 116th day in hospital with the caption: “Fk cancer.”
A number of artists have commented to wish Michael well on his latest update including, Black Coffee, Fatboy Slim, Amelie Lens, Martin Garrix and many more.
