Michael Bibi is officially cancer free

Michael Bibi has revealed he has left hospital and is cancer free.

In a post on Instagram, the Solid Grooves founder wrote: “After 6 months of fighting I leave hospital officially in remission with no cancer in my body.

“To every person that sent me the support, energy & strength to fight I thank you from the bottom of my heart & to the staff @royalmarsden for literally saving my life I will forever be in your debt. Thankyou so much..”

He previously announced he had been diagnosed with central nervous system lymphoma in June, a rare cancer that affects the spine and brain, and had been hospitalised for treatment.

In September, he surprised partygoers at the Solid Grooves closing party in Ibiza, landing at DC-10 to play a set.

The former Mixmag cover star is one of the most popular DJs in contemporary British dance music, who’s spent the past few years selling out the best clubs around the world with his Solid Grooves and ELOVATE party series, as well as being booked for prominent festival stages.

Alongside announcing his cancer free update, he added: “I’m still very tired, I’m on a lot of meds, my body hurts & my hairs all gone….but I’m excited to get home, process, heal & prepare for the future with you all.”
