Michael Bibi surprised partygoers at the Solid Grooves closing party in Ibiza, landing at DC-10 to play a set.

In a highly emotional moment, he took to the decks for the first time since announcing his cancer diagnosis in June and cancelling all upcoming gigs.

The DJ, producer and Solid Grooves label and party co-founder left hospital on Tuesday, September 26, after more than 100 days of treatment for (CNS) lymphoma, a rare form of cancer known as (CNS) lymphoma which is found in the brain and spine.

At the time he posted on Instagram: “When I first came into hospital I was barely able to walk.

Today I walk out with a smile having completed my main treatment. tired but happy…My fight against cancer is not over…but for now a break & some extra time to enjoy life.”

He teased the appearance on Instagram on Thursday afternoon, posting a photo of a plane wing in the sky from inside the aeromobile on his story.

Around the same time on Twitter, he wrote: “one life, live it.”

The former Mixmag cover star is one of the most popular DJs in contemporary British dance music, who’s spent the past few years selling out the best clubs around the world with his Solid Grooves and ELOVATE party series, as well as being booked for prominent festival stages.

He’s been heralded for his tireless work ethic and often plays lengthy sets, having spoken about experiences on the dancefloor as a form of meditation and healing.
