LWE announces it will no longer be holding events at Tobacco Dock
After almost nine years, the London promoter will throw its "last dance" at the venue in October
LWE has announced that it will no longer be throwing parties at London's Tobacco Dock — ending a nine-year exclusive partnership between the promoter and the Wapping venue.
In a statement, the promoter explains that all currently scheduled events up to the annual Drumcode Halloween party will still be going ahead, however, this will be its "last dance."
LWE has brought over 2000 acts to Tobacco Dock since its first event at the venue in January 2014, which featured headliners, Adam Beyer, Maceo Plex and Seth Troxler.
LWE is regarded as London's biggest electronic music promoter with Junction 2 festival, new venue The Beams and the upcoming ION Festival in Albania among its projects.

Tobacco Dock, a Grade I listed former tobacco storehouse in East London, has welcomed over 300,000 ravers since it first opened its doors nine years ago, transforming it from a disused warehouse to a clubbing destination.
The "last dance" Halloween weekend starts on October 29 with The Masquerade which will be headlined by masked DJ Claptone and will continue for the last event Fuse on October 30.
The venue will also play host to part of Junction 2’s Inter City festival.
Will Harold, founder of LWE statement reads: “As the spiritual home of LWE, Tobacco Dock has long been an important part of our story, an incredible journey and something we’ll always look at with a real sense of achievement."
Harold explains: "It's rare for a party to continue for so long in a city that is densely populated and rife with development; after nearly nine years and over 50 major events in the venue, it’s time for this particular party to come to an end. Halloween weekend 2022 will represent the final LWE events to take place at Tobacco Dock."
After reflecting on highlights including the Launch, the annual Drumcode Halloween events and New Year’s Day Harold continues: "Changes to the landscape for promoters in recent years, the worsening cost of living crisis and so much more, mean it’s becoming harder and harder to promote events in a venue of this size and layout, not least in terms of calls from local residents for a change of pace in the area. Leaving isn’t a decision we’ve taken lightly."

"We want to thank everyone who has worked, built, played, sung, laughed, cried and danced with us," Harold concludes adding: "There are so many memories for us in that building. Huge thanks to Jonnie and Patrick and all the team at Tobacco Dock. The LWE family look forwards to new adventures on the horizon.”
