People who bought a $200 stem player are angry that 'DONDA 2' isn't out yet

Many fans are upset that Kanye's anticipated album, 'DONDA 2', was not released on 22/2/22 after they purchased a $200 'Stem Player' to listen to the album.

Ye stated a month ago that the new album will be out on 22/2/22, but just four days before that date, he declared that the album would not be available on DSPs and would instead be available solely through a proprietary platform called the Stem Player.

It was reported that the album was not released even on the Stem Player, by UPROXX.

What is Kanye's Stem Player? It is a small disc-shaped device that is essentially a small MP3 player that breaks songs down into "stems."

Listeners can change the vocal ranges, drums, and bass - as well as isolate audio elements and add effects, using the touch-sensitive controls.

The device was created in collaboration with Kano Computing, a hardware start-up based in London.

The intention was for the album to only be available to listen to through the Stem Player; author Herbert Lui explains in a tweet that the music will be available for free on the Stem Player, but the device itself must be purchased. He also predicts that there will be many unofficial leaks of the album.

DONDA 2’ will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player, not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube. Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes,” said Kanye on Instagram.

Of course, the reports of the album not being dropped on time has sparked several memes online.

Yesterday (February 22), to celebrate the release of his new album Kanye conducted a listening event and a live performance at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida.

This event was live-streamed is now available to watch on YouTube. Before the event began, fans who watched the livestream from the beginning saw a continuous, pulsating heartbeat for the first two hours and 45 minutes.

As reported by NME, the rapper appeared to walk on water, and a reconstruction of Ye's childhood home took up a big portion of the arena, with fires blazing within.

Fans were treated to about 45 minutes of music, which included previously unreleased tracks like 'Flowers,' as well as recent collaborations like 'Eazy' with The Game and Pusha T's latest single 'Diet Coke,' which was performed with Pusha T onstage.
