​Glastonbury’s Shangri-La announces 2024 line-ups and unveils new stage, Arrivals

Glastonbury’s Shangri-La has announced its 2024 line-ups and unveiled a brand new stage, Arrivals, due to feature in the South East corner field for the first time this year.

The six-stage line-up arrived earlier today (April 19), continuing the same theme as last year, “Everything (Still) Must Go, Pt 2, The Sequel."

Over on the Nowhere stage, Shangri-La welcomes the likes of DJ Fuckoff, Denham Audio, DJ EZ, Joy (Anonymous), Kurupt FM, Kitty Amor, Conducta, Chloé Robinson, and plenty more.

The Nowhere stage is also set to host a handful of one-offs, including a 25-year showcase from Defected Records, a celebration of two decades of Risky Roadz, and a Sports Banger Mega Rave special.

Shangri-La has also unveiled a brand new stage this year, named Arrivals, the “first-ever dedicated South Asian space” in Glastonbury history.

The stage is entirely built and curated by a South Asian team, with a line-up including the likes of Anish Kumar, Baalti, Nabihah Iqbal, Gracie T, Nikki Nair, Bobby Friction, and Raji Rags in 2024.

Arrivals is created in collaboration with South Asian collectives and cultural organisations Dialled In, Going South, and Daytimers, offering a “sensory” and “audio-visual” experience with a stage design both nostalgic and futuristic, a press release explains.

"This is a seminal moment for UK Festival culture,” says BBC Asian Network presenter Bobby Friction, who called the opening of Arrivals “a dream come true”.

“South Asian and British Asian music have had their own small festivals over the years and some Asian artists have performed in the big gatherings that are now a quintessential part of a British Summer, but a full on Glastonbury space dedicated to South Asian music, beats and DJs for the entire festival? That's just crazy,” he said.

Elsewhere at Shangri-La, London Trans+ Pride and The Chateau are set to join forces again for a third year with performances from PLANNINGTOROCK and Travis Alabanza, and takeovers from Pxssy Palace and SWANA Collective x Nazar.

Other stages this year feature artists including SHERELLE, A Guy Called Gerald, Fat Tony, Rosa Pistola, Nightmares On Wax, Kneecap, Bianca Oblivion, Moktar, and more.
