Glasgow’s Sub Club is set to host a fundraiser event on Sunday, June 23, raising money for Beatson Cancer Charity.

The event is due to run from 10:PM until 3:AM featuring some of Glasgow’s biggest stars, including Slam’s Stuart McMillan, Craigie Knowes, and Jasper James.

All proceeds from the door and bar will be donated to charity. The fundraiser was set up after two members of the Sub Club team were “personally affected by cancer”.

Glasgow DJ All-Star Fundraiser hopes to raise money to fund private healthcare treatments for two staff members who are “close friends of the club”. Funds will also be donated directly to Beatson Cancer Charity to “help support them in all that they do”.

In a personal statement from the two Sub Club employees, they explained: “Without the understanding and complete support of the management and staff at the Sub Club, our lives would be so much more difficult.”

“They gave us a total sense of normality and bent over backwards several times to ensure we would still be involved in the club and would be able to work when we wanted to even if it was in a small capacity.”

The line-up for the 400-capacity event was put together by Subculture’s Domenic Cappello, who has the longest-running residency in Sub Club history.

The bill also includes the likes of Babyccino, Stevie Cox, Optimo’s JG Wilkes, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Hayley Zalassi, and Domenic Cappello himself.

“This event just underlines [Sub Club’s] ongoing support, and we are so insanely grateful to be part of the club. They’ve become our little family, and they’ve supported us through the toughest time in our lives,” the staff explain.
