Disco Pogo to publish new tribute book about Aphex Twin

A new tribute book about Aphex Twin is coming out this year.

Aphex Twin: A Disco Pogo Tribute, edited by Disco Pogo editor Jim Butler and designed by Chris Jones, will contain interviews, essays and features about the legendary British experimental musician, real name Richard D. James, penned by leading music journalists.

The 250-plus-page book also features world-class music photography from across James’ career, including an iconic cover portrait by Wolfgang Tillmans, along with a rare glimpse into the intricate artwork of Aphex Twin’s logo designer Paul Nicholson.

It has been supported by labels closely associated with Aphex Twin, Warp Records, R&S Records and his own Rephlex, co-founded with Grant Wilson-Claridge, as well as AFX fan site Lanner Chronicle.

The book marks the second instalment in Disco Pogo's tribute series, following 2023 publication We Were Robots, which was dedicated to Daft Punk and featured a reprint of Daft Punk's first-ever interview with Disco Pogo predecessor Jockey Slut.

Fittingly, for a book that documents the artist's career over more than three decades, Aphex Twin: A Disco Pogo Tribute comes out in the same month that Richard D. James is releasing an expanded 30-anniversary reissue of his second album, ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume II’, one of his most influential and best known projects.

Aphex Twin: A Disco Pogo Tribute is out on October 30. Pre-order it here.
