Jockey Slut announces Andrew Weatherall tribute book

Andrew Weatherall - A Jockey Slut Tribute is a new book dedicated to the British DJ and producer, who died earlier this year due to a pulmonary embolism.

The 160 page book is edited by John Burgess, the founding editor of influential club culture magazine that was founded by Burgess and Paul Benny in 1993 and published until 2004.

It features a brand new 10,000+ word oral history of the early years of Andrew Weatherall’s career, charting his involvement in classic acid house party Shoom, producing on Primal Scream’s revered ‘Screamadelica’ album and work as a member of electronic group The Sabres of Paradise.

Interviews with Bobby Gillespie, Ed Simons, Danny Rampling, Justin Robertson, Andrew Innes, David Holmes, Keith Tenniswood, Anna Haigh, Terry Farley and more are included.

The book also contains every interview Andrew Weatherall had with Jockey Slut, new features and classic articles included from writers such as Luke Una, Richard Norris, Kris Needs, Joe Muggs, Jim Butler, Mandi James and Lee Brackstone, and a retrospective of Andrew Weatherall’s club nights Sabresonic, Bloodsugar, Double Gone Chapel, Wrong Meeting, A Love From Outer Space penned by John Burgess.

All proceeds from the book will be donated to charities close to Andrew Weatherall’s heart: Amnesty International, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Thrombosis UK and Crisis.
