Danny Tenaglia has announced that he will be completing his Global Underground trilogy with a new compilation, ‘GU45: Brooklyn’

The Global Underground series started for Tenaglia in 1999 with ‘GU10: Athens’ and his second release came the following year with ‘GU17: London’.

Now, over 20 years later, the final compilation sees him return to his home town of Brooklyn.

This final GU release features work from Moderat, Monika Kruse with Pig&Dan, Dino Lenny, and Basement Jaxx.

Also featuring in the compilation is his upcoming single with Cevin Fisher ‘Move That Body’ as well as more music from Tenaglia.

Danny Tenaglia explains: “I’m happy to announce that I’ve just completed my third compilation for the iconic Global Underground series. First, it was ‘Athens GU10’, then ‘London GU17’, and now we are bringing it to my hometown of Brooklyn giving you GU45.”

He adds: “As a native of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this compilation is not only a celebration of my roots but also a tribute to the dynamic and ever-evolving nightlife that ignited and guided my musical career back in 1975.”

Global Underground Founder, Andy Horsfield, says: “I’m so excited to present the third and final instalment in Danny Tenaglia’s GU Trilogy with ‘GU45: Brooklyn’.

"Danny’s mixes have been a huge part of GU’s DNA for many years, with his seminal Athens and London mixes becoming many people’s favourite DJ mixes of all time. Brooklyn is a stunning addition to that heritage, and I can’t wait to release this album to the world.”

Last month, the pioneering house DJ revealed in a video message that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

Tenaglia was diagnosed with the disease following a routine colonoscopy in May and explains in the video that his diagnosis is the reason for his recent cancellation of gigs adding, “It was really hard to cancel”.

His statement concludes with him stating: “I’m strong, I’m fighting this.”

The 42-track release will be available via CD, vinyl, download and via streaming services.

‘GU45: Brooklyn’ will be out in November this year. Pre-order it here.
