Charli XCX releases first single from upcoming album, 'Von Dutch'
The star had previously teased snippets of the single on TikTok, which will be featured on forthcoming album 'BRAT'
Charli XCX has released the first single from her highly-anticipated sixth studio record, ‘Von Dutch'.
The new track was unveiled yesterday (February 29), along with a typically electrifying visual which features the pop star wreaking havoc through an airport terminal.
Charli first teased ‘Von Dutch’ earlier this year, posting a preview to TikTok with the caption “I’m bored here’s the new song :).”
Working with previous collaborator and producer EASYFUN, ‘Von Dutch’ is a synth-heavy, boisterous, electro-pop track.
“It's alright to just admit that I'm the fantasy,” sings Charli, “You're obsessing, just confess it 'cause it's obvious, I'm your number one.”

Alongside the new single, Charli XCX also revealed the name of the forthcoming, 15-track album: 'BRAT' — alongside the record's artwork, which features a green background and "brat" in a blurred Ariel font.
Upon the announcement, a limited number of 'BRAT' vinyls were put on sale on Charli's official website, with the pop star later revealing that they had already sold out within "hours" of being made available.
The record is expected for release this summer, with the majority of the details having been kept under tight wraps up until now — with Charli herself even referring to it by the temporary name ‘XCX6.’
As far as what fans can expect from 'BRAT', the star has hinted that the record will be electronic-focused - writing on Twitter: “I was born to make dance music.. I came from the clubs.. xcx6 is the album I’ve always wanted to make.”
An exploration of her relationships, the new album is said to feature a song delving into Charli’s feelings of grief after the passing of collaborator and friend SOPHIE.
