Bicep have released a new single ‘CHROMA 003 Bi83’ under their lesser-known alias, DOVE.

While the Irish duo's debut under the alias came in 2021, with the release of their single ‘000', Bicep have no released any music under the DOVE moniker since then.

Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar have described DOVE as “an extreme version of the Bicep sound. Heavier but also calmer”.

Adding to their ever-growing ‘CHROMA’ project, the new track continues to embody the “from acid to alkaline” tagline of the label but also marks a new alias and journey for the pair.

‘Bi83’ has seen the pair “restrict” themselves to using “human voices and acid” to form the majority of the track.

Sharing more about their alias via Discord they add: “DOVE will hopefully be a place where we can put more singular ideas down, less focused on complete songs and more on experimental concepts we work on in the studio.”

They continue: “Long-term we would like DOVE to lean into the sounds we grew up with, with a rave-leaning aesthetic, but at this stage we’re just excited to start growing it and see where it goes.”

‘Bi83’ was played out pre-release at their debut performance of their all-new CHROMA A/V DJ set at Coachella.

This summer Bicep will be headlining with this new show at Wilderness Festival as well as closing Creamfields’ Runway Stage.

The Belfast duo have also confirmed their debut performance as DOVE to take place at the Levels Stage at Glastonbury this June.

2024 will also see the pair host a number of ‘Bicep Present CHROMA’ takeovers at the likes of London’s Finsbury Park and Brighton Beach later in the year.

On top of their new ‘CHROMA' DJ set Bicep have also recently announced their 30-minute-long short film CHROMAVISION.

Created by Zak Norman, with creative input from David Rudnick CHROMAVISION will include an exclusive soundtrack of CHROMA music featuring both released and unreleased work.

The short film premiered last month in LA with no information on an official release date.
