The Best DJ Mixes Of The Year 2026 So Far - May - Mixmag.net

Lukas Wigflex b2b Ivan Smagghe @ Corsica Studios Closing Party 2026

South London’s beloved Corsica Studios said “Goodbye x” earlier this year, and while thousands travelled to Elephant and Castle across its closing months pay their respects, we’re grateful that two of its dearest friends - Lukas Wigflex and Ivan Smagghe - have blessed us with this exclusive, four hour recording from its final throes. Cavernous bass, searing synths, hypnotic loops. This is Corsica Studios immortalised in its murky, free-wheeling, mind-bending best. Crying.

DJ Marfox live at Expert Death

More than 16 months after it was recorded at Expert Death’s first party in their home of Ormside Projects in South London, DJ Marfox’s masterwork of a mix is made available for the first time. Varying in tempos and styles, this two-hour journey spans everything from energetic kuduro to low-slung bass with rhythmic excellence.

Faster Horses in the Mixmag Lab

Liverpool-hailing party starter Faster Horses took on support duties in May at our first all-dayer in the MIxmag Lab with headliner AZYR, and to set the mood, he ran through a range of hard house, garage, and techno across an incendiary 60 minutes. Calling it the “perfect representation of my sound at the moment”, there’s no horsing around with this high-energy set.

Doctor Jeep 100% Electro on Rinse FM

In an “electro special” made for cruising the streets, New York bass head Doctor Jeep continued his efforts in exclusively putting together themed mixes in 2026 with this latest on Rinse FM. Featuring classic and new electro slammers from the likes of Underground Resistance, Drexciya, Jorg Kuning and more, this mix is “all about machine beats from the mid-‘90s ‘til the present day,” per Doctor Jeep.

Niks ‘Live at Nowadays (29/03/26)’

Sharing her first recorded set in four years, Niks takes into the intimate, foggy club of New York’s Nowadays for a two-hour immersion through deep grooves and sprightly house. Helming a 3.30AM-6:AM slot of the club’s marathon Nonstop party, Niks was recently off a plane from Barcelona and heading straight to another to Jamaica afterwards. But in between, the hecticness of that schedule melts away, as she locks into am immersive musical trip. You can just imagine it blocking out the outside world while absorbed into movement on the dancefloor.

Ceri ‘Phonica Friends & Family Mix Series 30’

Stepping up for Phonica’s mix series, Ceri delivers an hour of sumptuous house. A timeless, expansive sound that will never die and this mix is a strong representation as to why: bringing everything from jacking beats, bright chords, rolling percussion, airy ambience, urgent vocals and more.

ZHA ‘RUNNERS001: Pure Wobs’

White Peach head ZHA has launched a new mix series under the banner Runners, aiming to focus on the “subtle details that define styles found within genres”. First up, he hones in on the “warm, easily identifiable, wob.” What a theme for a mix, and naturally the impact is hefty all the way through. From the off it’s like being capsized into bass as headfuck dubstep with off-kilter melodic lines sets the tone. Moving through, there’s more palpitating sub-bass, syncopated rhythms, crunchy outer textures, and plenty more screwface excellence. Keep the safety on that gun finger or you’ll have someone’s eye out.

Horst Festival w/ Karen Nyame KG on Kiosk Radio

As Brussels’ Horst Festival was in full swing over at Asiat Park this month, Kiosk Radio was broadcasting its own festival-spirited takeover at Parc Royal, enlisting the help of  Karen Nyame KG to dish out some decadent amapiano, spine tingling 4x4 and fizzling percussive bass, from the likes of Afrika Capriccio, Hagan, Breyth & Kususa, and of course, an endless array of her own deep cuts. Bliss.

dirtydms & Vox supreme (live @ radion) / Untitled 909

Amsterdam-based DJs dirtydms and Vox supreme take us through an atmospheric, kaleidoscopic two-and-a-half-hours in this live recording from their b2b set in Radion’s listening room, which ranges from lower-than-low tempo bass to erratic, chopped electro and smooth-edged dub. Equal parts ethereal and unsettling, this is bean bag music at its very best.
