The Loop issue warning over "teddy bear pills" following Secret Garden Party

The group reiterates that drug takers "dose low" and "go slow"

The Loop has issued a series of drug warnings following Secret Garden Party which took place over the weekend (July 21 to July 24).

These warnings were for a pill that was found to contain 2.5 times the normal dose of MDMA, a ‘Teddy Bear’ pill that varied in strength, an imitation ‘SoundCloud’ pill and N-ethylpentylone getting sold as powdered MDMA.

The Loop was at Secret Garden Party testing drugs dropped off at its station and giving our harm reduction advice to attendees confidentially.

The group recommended to all attendees, regardless of whether they were consuming drugs or not, to “stay cool, drink water & seek medical help if feeling unwell”.

The “super strength” MDMA pills appear to be in the shape of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and according to the drug-checking group high strength pills are still being found, despite reports of “less super-strength pills in circulation” earlier this festival season.

The group also tested 20 Teddy Bears; all containing MDMA, averaging ~180mg which is roughly 1.5 times the average dose. The Loop recommends taking a quarter and sipping water, and not to redose until 90 minutes later.

The ‘Soundcloud’ imitation pill has varying strengths, and the group suggest to not take any more if you do not feel the effects of this pill.

N-ethylpentylone is a drug which is structurally and pharmacituically similar to drugs such as MDMA - however, the side effects include insomnia and at times psychosis for around 12-48 hours after taking it.

The Loop suggests that anyone who has consumed powder that could be N-ethylpentylone to rest and sleep if they can.

Despite Secret Garden Party coming to an end, these pills and powders may continue to be in circulation at other festivals around England.

The Loop recommend you “Dose Low and Go Slow”, and seek medical attention if feeling unwell after taking a drug.
