Spain is working with the UK to reopen safe travel corridors.
Offering more hope for the Ibiza season in 2021, Spain's tourism minister Reyes Maroto has confirmed that the country is working with the UK to reinstall travel once it is safe to do so.

Majorca Daily Bulletin reports that Spain is in talks with its major tourism markets, which includes the UK as well as Germany.
Speaking in Andalusia last week, Maroto continued to promote Spain's progressive approach to reopening its borders to tourism and highlighted how important it was to have travel corridors ready for when it is safe for people to travel.

Maroto was also positive once again about developing a vaccine passport "to allow us to regain safe mobility" and that Spain is "working with the EU so that there are common protocols."
Maroto also said work was happening behind the scenes to make sure tourism could happen this summer: "Destinations are making preparations, and we hope that mobility conditions will be met. We now have something that we didn't have last summer, and that is vaccines."

The UK government has banned foreign holidays until May 17, with a plan regarding international travel to be unveiled on April 12.
Meanwhile, Ibiza is busy getting its population vaccinated in time for the summer season, which is also good news for the island's hospitality industry, including clubs.
Ibiza Rocks will open from May and Amnesia is the first superclub on the island to announce parties.
