Seth Troxler to publish photo book documenting 2023 world tour

Launching at ADE next week, In Between contains over 250 photographs taken by the US DJ’s close friend and fellow musician Bill Patrick

Seth Troxler is set to publish a photo book documenting his 2023 world tour.

Entitled In Between, the 272-page book will consist of 250 photographs taken by the US DJ's close friend and fellow musician, Bill Patrick — using vintage cameras in 35mm.

Set to debut at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) next week (October 18), Patrick's debut book will also be the first publication dedicated to Troxler’s life and work — combining behind-the-scenes shots of Troxler on tour with more journalistic-style photography of the 40 cities they visited across four continents and 20 countries.

The book will then hit general sale on November 12.

In the book’s summary, Patrick comments: "Over ten months in 2023, I set out with my best friend to document our journey across the globe, aiming to capture the raw reality of life as touring artists."

“From surfers on Munich’s Eisbach River to the colourful streets of Tokyo, I sought the extraordinary in every city," he continues. "Beyond the club scenes, I aimed to showcase the grittier side of this lifestyle, as well as a touch of humanity and emotion. It was gruelling at times and not always easy, but the experience was unforgettable."

According to a press release, the photo essay's name comes from this contrasting portrait of life as a touring DJ, where the “rhythm of a buoyant nightlife is punctuated by moments of solitude and rest”.

In Between will subsequently be launched events in New York on October 23, London and Miami – dates yet to be determined.

ADE 2024 is set to kick off on October 16 with a run of four, one-off opening concerts taking place across a number of the city’s most impressive cultural venues.

This year, the five-day festival boasts a stellar line-up of electronic music legends including Honey Dijon, Four Tet, Peggy Gou, FJAAK, Major League DJz, The Martinez Brothers, Caribou, Jeff Mills, Benga and Anz, to name but a few.
