Rhythm Section invites labels to join ‘Alternative Black Friday’ charity sale

A host of labels are joining Rhythm Section in the Bandcamp sale, raising money for the Shelter and War Child charities

Rhythm Section has teamed up with Ruf Kutz, YAM Records, FTD, Ransom Note Records and First Word Records to raise money for charities Shelter and War Child.

The labels involved will put record prices up by 10 per cent on Friday November 30, and donate the extra revenue directly to the UK charities. 10 per cent of the overall profits from the day will then also be donated by the labels.

War Child and Shelter, the chosen charities, help children impacted by conflict across the world and campaign to end homelessness and bad housing in England and Scotland.

The sale is being labelled as an 'Alternative Black Friday', shifting the capitalist focus of last weekend's commercial sales drive to a more charitable initiative.

“The fact that the western world is scrambling for a discount and big business profits are skyrocketing while bombs are being dropped, famine is raging and hundreds of thousands are homeless in the UK just doesn’t sit right,” said Rhythm Section boss Bradley Zero (pictured). Rhythm Section has called on other labels to join the initiative.

Head to the Bandcamp shop of each label involved tomorrow to partake in the Aternative Black Friday sale.
