MC Grindah teases sixth season of People Just Do Nothing

“We’re in talks about a five-part trilogy”

Allan Mustafa, who plays MC Grindah in the hit BBC series People Just Do Nothing, has spoken about the possibility of a sixth season.

The Kurupt FM crew have been away from the screen since 2018 when the last season of the UK show aired. Now, People Just Do Nothing season six may be in the works.

MC Grindah spoke to Digital Spy in character this week, saying: “I loved my time on People Just Do Nothing and all that when they filmed us for the BBC. But it was a big miscommunication because when they first approached us, I always thought it was going to be a live feed of me MC-ing for ages at pirate radio.

“It was hard to say no, because they were throwing literally hundreds of quid at us, for like a month's work. But I just feel like, you know, it's the last time I'm putting on my tap shoes and doing that dance.”

Mustafa also added that the garage crew never wanted to carry on with the series after the final release and were eager to leave it on a high. They came up with a vision for the season’s finale way back in series two, but have since been working on a follow-up film.

On May 11, Universal Pictures released a trailer for the new Kurupt film, People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan which is out on August 18.

Just one week later, MC Grindah is talking a "five-part trilogy" with studios. “I mean, when I say 'in talks', it's more like me, Beats and Steves saying, 'Wouldn't it be mad to do that one day?’”

Fellow Kurupt FM member DJ Steves said: "All of this is really building up to a sort of long-term plan, which is the Grindah five-part trilogy of his life story."
