Paris' Japan Connection Festival returns for second year

Paris' Japan Connection Festival is returning for a second year, and this year the line-up includes DJ Nobu and Wata Igarashi.

Due to take place on March 26, at Gaîté Lyrique, the festival will showcase Japanese electronic music and digital arts.

DJ Masda, Hugo LX, and techno superstar DJ Nobu, who will perform back-to-back with Wata Igarashi for the first time outside of Japan, are among the DJs on the bill.

Satoshi Tomiie & Kuniyuki will perform their first live set, and fans can expect live performances by Manami Sakamoto & Yuri Urano and others.

DJ sets, performances, installations, discussions, conferences, free workshops, and events coordinated by TEMPURA, a French magazine dedicated to Japanese culture, are part of the programme, which runs in two parts from 2 PM to 7 PM and 11:30 PM to 5:30 AM.

As explained in an Instagram caption penned by the festival organisers, it has had to take the decision to spread it out. they wrote: "In the context of the difficulties linked to the health crisis in France and Japan, we are forced to modify the format of the festival, and to rethink it on the day and night of Saturday March 26."

Attendees will be able to sample traditional Japanese teas, sake, and street cuisine in addition to the music and sights. The festival is also a phone-free zone, with attendees being requested to place their phones in bags with magnetic locks before entering.

As written on Instagram, the festival said: "We are certain that this edition will be sumptuous, and we are counting on your support to make the resumption of this festival an unforgettable moment."
