Jamie xx joins forces with The Avalanches on new single, ‘All You Children’
It marks the third single to be released from his forthcoming album, ‘In Waves’
Jamie xx has teamed up with The Avalanches on a brand new single, ‘All You Children’, due to appear on his second studio album next month.
The new single landed on Tuesday, July 30, marking the third release from Jamie xx’s forthcoming record, ‘In Waves’, due to land via Young on September 20.
“The Avalanches have always been an inspiration for me,” he says on the track. “Their sample technique and how they piece together different sounds is incredible and collaborating on a track with them has showed me new ways of making music.”

The new release sees the artists collaborate for the first time since The Avalanche’s 2020 track ‘Wherever You Go’, which featured both Jamie xx and Neneh Cherry.
‘All You Children’ is a climbing club track featuring vocal chants and a driving bassline, previously teased by Jamie xx at shows and festival sets. Check it out below.
Speaking on the single, The Avalanches explain: “We’re so excited about the release of this track with Jamie, ‘All You Children’. We hope you love it as much as we do.”

In June, Jamie xx announced the release of his first new record in more than nine years, ‘In Waves’. The record follows on from his 2015-released debut album, ‘In Colour’.
So far, three new singles have been released including a collaborative track with Honey Dijon, ‘Baddy On The Floor’, and the June-released track ‘Life’ featuring Robyn - which marked her “first major release” since the 2018 album ‘Honey’.
The 12-track album also features collaborations with the likes of Kelsey Lu, John Glacier, Panda Bear, Oona Doherty, and The xx bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim.
