On the track, jamesjamesjames sets the scene: “It’s 2007, Santa just gifted you your first ever iPod nano for Christmas! It’s the exact colour you wanted. PURPLE. You carefully pull back the tape and unbox the device, making sure not to drop or scratch it. You press the click wheel. It turns on.You shed a tear in excitement and run straight to the family desktop computer where you power up the computer & plug the iPod nano in.
“You open up Limewire and immediately pirate The Annual 2007 (plus a bonus hidden virus) to iTunes. You sync the iPod. Unplug the device. Insert the white earphones. Start the music. And this is the first song you hear.”
The accompanying music video to the track was shot in Australia and is extremely 00s inspired, from the outfits, to the dancing.
