Initial line-up for Serbia’s 2023 EXIT Festival announced

Acts include Skrillex, Hot Since 82 and The Prodigy, whose founder Liam Howlett previously highlighted as one of his favourite music festivals

EXIT Festival has revealed the first 23 artists for its 2023 edition.

Taking place between July 6 and July 9 at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Serbia, those named so far include Skrillex, Hot Since 82 and Camelphat, as well as a special appearance from The Prodigy on their comeback international tour.

The festival has been named by Liam Howlett, The Prodigy’s co-founding member, as the act’s favourite festival to play at.

He said: “EXIT is our favourite festival! We were there (in Serbia) when a lot of shit went down. They hold us in their hearts as a special band, and we love the people there.”

Their show will also feature a special laser projection of the late Keith Flint, who was The Prodigy’s lead singer.

Dušan Kovačević, the EXIT Festival's founder said: “Many thought, including the band itself, that The Prodigy would stop performing after the tragedy, but we knew this wouldn’t be the case.

“The comeback concerts in London showed that the fire burns stronger in them than ever, and the iconic band’s reunion with its favourite EXIT audience, will surely be the most emotional yet,” he continued.

“In July, we will witness a moment of true music history, which will reach its highest point with a special laser projection of Keith Flint.”

Also returning to EXIT is American DJ and producer Skrillex, who first performed at the festival’s 2014 edition. He reportedly enjoyed his set so much that he cancelled the rest of his performances that weekend and stayed until the end of the festival.

In March 2019, Keith Flint, The Prodigy’s lead tragically passed away at his home in Essex at the age of 49. His cause of death was later confirmed as suicide.

Early bird tickets are on sale from €87 plus a booking fee. For more information and to see the full list of names announced for EXIT 2023, visit its official website.
