First wave of contributors revealed for Daft Punk-focused book ‘After Daft’
The biography, written by Gabriel Szatan, will be released in 2023
A full list of contributors for a new Daft Punk-focused book, titled After Daft: The Rewiring of 21st Century Culture, have been revealed.
The first official biographical book is set to take an in-depth look at Daft Punk’s impact on electronic dance music over the last 30 years and how their Alive Tour from 2006-2007 set the precedent for a new generation of DJs.
Contributors for After Daft include legendary electropop artist Kavinsky, the late US producer Paul Johnson, garage originator Todd Edwards, and the father of Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter, Daniel Vangarde.

The book is also set to include contributions from the likes of Kevin Saunderson, Annie Mac, The Blessed Madonna, Disclosure, DJ Minx, and Carl Craig on the duo's long-lasting effect on dance music.
After Daft's author Gabriel Szatan said of the duo: “Daft Punk sit in the pantheon of pop alongside Prince, Talking Heads, Kate Bush, Stevie Wonder, Kraftwerk, Missy Elliott, David Bowie or any visionary you’d care to name.
“Beyond making joyous records, there are countless compelling sub-narratives which flow in and out of their career: Alive 2006-07 was as consequential for dance music as The Beatles’ 1964 appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show was for rock ’n’ roll.”
The pair are widely regarded to be responsible for helping extend the popularity of house, techno and electro to the rest of the world, collaborating with artists such as Kanye West and Pharell Williams.

Much more than a traditional music biography, with meticulous research and exclusive access, the publication will show how the music industry and wider entertainment worlds were impacted by Daft Punk.
Aside from Daft Punk, the book will also document the impact of those who inspired the duo including the veteran house and techno DJs of Chicago and Detroit, as well as other key players in arts and music around the world.
After Daft will highlight industry-defining aspects of the duo’s career while tracing their journey back to their home country of France, where it all started.
