Four Tet, Nabihah Iqbal and Damon Albarn dig through John Peel's record collection
They join Tom Ravenscroft for his new podcast series titled The Collection: Peel Acres
BBC Radio 6 DJ and presenter Tom Ravenscroft has recently been joined by Four Tet, Nabihah Iqbal and Damon Albarn to look through the record collection of his late father John Peel.
Ravenscroft hosts his own show on 6 Music and has recently started a podcast series titled The Collection: Peel Acres, in which he and a guest go through his late father's record collection.

The podcast's title comes from the nickname given to the Suffolk cottage where John Peel lived, which he called 'Peel Acres'.
In a promotional video posted to Facebook, Ravenscroft details this podcast as "involving inviting figures from the music world down to Peel Acres [cottage in Suffolk] to help crack open the record collection [of John Peel], which is arguably the best record collection in the world".

The first episode features Gorillaz founder and Blur frontman Damon Albarn who picks through records including Mahalia Jackson's 'We Shall Overcome' and music from J.R.R Tolkien.
Ravenscroft is also joined by Nabihah Iqbal who selects Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendricks and classical Indian instrumentalist Ravi Shanka.
Four Tet also appears in an episode of the podcast and selects records from Nirvana, The 13th Floor Elevators, and Stanley Winston.

John Peel had an expansive career as a DJ and presenter - he was BBC Radio 1's longest serving DJ from the original roster, broadcasting regularly from 1967 until his death in 2004.
He had an eclectic music taste which spanned house, reggae, punk, hip hop, metal, pop, global dance and more.

Tom Ravenscroft is set to release more episodes of the podcast, and will be joined by LCY on February 28.
