Effy joins forces with Mall Grab for latest single 'Run It'
The track is accompanied by announcing her forthcoming EP, 'Not What It Seems'
Effy has released her latest single, 'Run It', in collaboration with Mall Grab.
The thumping, bass-heavy tune marks a shift in the producer and DJ's work which will be explored on her forthcoming debut EP, which has also been announced alongside the single's release.
'Not What It Seems' is due for release on June 17, and also includes Effy's previous acid techno single 'Not Yours'.

"Run it was totally unplanned," says Effy on the new single. "I had this cut up vocal sample that I’d been sitting on for ages, so I showed it to Jordy [Mall Grab] to see if he wanted to do anything with it. He put some sick drums and bass on it, I added some acid and we ended up with this breakbeat Prodigy-esque tune.”
Mall Grab adds, emphasising the magic behind the tune's creation: "After Eff showed me this vocal, I added some drum programming and a bass," he says. "Then she wrote a killer synth line which brought it all together into a no-nonsense club weapon."
Effy's upcoming EP, meanwhile, is an attempt to portray her sonic variety to kick off her debut with a bang.

"I have tried to encapsulate all of my sounds in one short project," she explains. "Techno, breakbeat, bass and some more softer melodic stuff. This project was mostly inspired by the feelings I had when clubs opened after the pandemic and finding my confidence as a DJ and artist.”
Effy, originally from Blackpool, has announced a plethora of shows: she's taking on Hideout in Croatia, Parklife, and even making her Ibiza debut show combined with more planned music releases.
