Ed Banger affiliate So Me to make directorial debut on upcoming Netflix film

Following the story of a DJ’s career, the film is set to star Kavinsky and Vincent Cassel

Ed Banger affiliate So Me has announced he will be making his directorial debut on a new Netflix film.

The untitled project began production on February 26, according to DJ Mag and will follow the storyline of a DJ’s career from its peak to its decline.

According to Deadline, the film is set to star award-winning actor Vincent Cassel as a once-famous DJ named Scorpex, who is offered a chance at redemption by an intelligence agent named Rose - played by Laura Felpin.

Also set to star in the forthcoming film will be YouTuber and rap artist Mister V, playing rival DJ Vestax as well as French producer Kavinsky.

Other cast members announced include Alexis Manenti, Déborah Lukumuena, Nina Zem, Nicolas Maury, Philippe Katerine, Paul Mirabel, Panayotis Pascot, Manu Payet and Alice Moitié.

Deadline also reports that the film is being produced by Paris and Los Angeles-based group Iconoclast and the film will be building on a 2021 short film by So Me that introduced Cassel in the role of Scorpex.

This will mark So Me’s - real name Bertrand Lagros de Langeron - directorial debut as the Parisian artist is best known for working as a music producer, DJ, graphic designer and as Ed Banger's art director.

The untitled French-language thriller is still in production with no release date announced as of yet.
