Dave’s ‘Starlight’ is the UK's top watched music video of 2022

Bradford’s Bad Boy Chiller Crew overtook Harry Styles to become the second most watched

YouTube has announced that Dave’s ‘Starlight’ was the most watched video of 2022 in the UK.

Reaching the second spot is Bad Boy Chiller Crew’s ‘BMW (French The Kid, MIST, Bugzy Malone Remix)’ overtaking Harry Styles.

‘Starlight’ has almost 40 million views on YouTube and was directed by Dave himself along with Nathan Tettey.

The track became the first UK number one to be written and produced by one person since 2014 according to Musicradar.

For the first time in 12 years, the list of top ten music videos has 8 UK artists with the sounds of drill and rap dominating the list from Aitch to Digga D.

Artists on the list also spread across the UK with Bradford’s Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Bru-C from Nottingham, Aitch from Manchester, ArrDee from Brighton, HAZEY from Liverpool and more.

UK Music Chief Executive Jamie Njoku-Goodwin says: “This shows just how much demand there is for British music – we are a global superpower when it comes to music.
