Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter to soundtrack new film ‘Daaaaaalí!’
Based on the life of Salvador Dalí, the soundtrack for the Quentin Dupieux directed comedy will be out via Ed Banger Records next month
Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter has composed the original soundtrack for upcoming Salvador Dalí film Daaaaaalí!.
The announcement was released by Ed Banger Records, which reads: “Let’s start 2024 with something very special! Thrilled to welcome Thomas Bangalter on Ed Banger records for the release of the original soundtrack of DAAAAAALÍ”.
The French comed film has been written and directed by Quentin Dupieux - also known as the DJ Mr Oizo - and follows the story of a ournalist meeting with Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí on for an “unproductive documentary project” as the synopsis explains.

Already premiered at the Venice International Film Festival last year, the film was described as a "real fake biopic" following the artist Salvador Dalí.
This will be Dupieux’s twelfth feature film following the likes of his horror-comedy Rubber and more recently his dark comedy Yannick.
Bangalter and Dupieux are longtime friends with the musician making an unmasked cameo in the director’s 2014 film Reality. Watch this cameo here.

A limited edition two track black 10’’ EP including a poster is avaialble to pre-order now and will be avaialble on February 7, the same date Daaaaaalí! hits French cinemas.
Last year, Bangalter released his first solo project since the split of Daft Punk in 2021.
Titled ‘Mythologies’, the album was originally made for the ballet of the same name choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj and premiered at the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine. Listen to ‘Mythologies’ here.
