Catz 'n Dogz celebrate 20 years, share new remix EP
More celebratory remixes are in the works, plus a lengthy VA compilation
Catz 'n Dogz have launched the celebrations for their 20th anniversary by announcing four new remixes and a V/A compilation.
Kicking things off is the first Double A side remix EP 'Wave' (Matisa Remix) / 'Rave History' (Maruwa Remix), both providing stellar dancefloor-primed energy.
'Wave' has been reworked by Italian Matisa in reminiscent fashion. She has maintained the original's slamming, thumping house beat and slurred vocal whilst adding a tripped-out effect to the cut. Think distorted vocal, high-pitched melodic twinkling notes and echoing soundscapes.

Meanwhile, Germany-based Maruwa has taken the original club-focused 'Rave History' and primed it with hard house, chopped-up cries and twanging arps.
"We really love the energy of Matisa and Maruwa," Catz 'n Dogz explain. "Their tracks are always in our sets. These two tracks are very important to us, so we thought what better time to refresh them than this milestone? Both remixes are working really well in our sets right now."
The pair continue, pondering over 20 years of the moniker: "At first we thought wow, that’s a lot, and were a bit down that the time flies so fast. Then, we started to talk about it, going through our music and productions, checking the videos and photos from all those parties we played. We decided that this compilation and our 20th anniversary is going to be a big thank you to all of the people we meet through all those years: every party, every record we've put out into the world, every label we've released on, every venue, every inspiring talent we've worked, played and toured with... and, most importantly, every person who's ever got down at a Catz 'n Dogz rave, and the fans who've supported us along the way."

Next week - May 12 - will welcome the release of the 20-track '20 Years' V/A compilation. Paying homage to the Polish duo's lengthy discography by including their largest and most pivotal releases, remixes and collaborations, those involved include Bicep, Solomun, The Shapeshifters and Róisín Murphy.
Following that, May 19 will mark the release of the third remix, featuring Andres Campo, with the final remix from Krystal Klear dropping on June 23. "Andres Campo delivered a great techno version of one of our biggest tunes ‘They Frontin'' and Krystal Klear remixed on one of our all-time favourite tracks, ‘Body’," the pair note. "We are really grateful to have such amazing artists for the remixes on this project."
In the meantime, though, you can check out the first remix EP 'Wave' (Matisa Remix) / 'Rave History' (Maruwa Remix) now. Do so here.
