Ben Hemsley has launched his new label, bebé

The launch was accompanied by the first EP he produced

Producer and DJ Ben Hemsley has just launched his new imprint, bebé.

Alongside the launch, he’s dropped ‘EP1’, which includes much-anticipated tune ‘Tu Amor’, a cut teased by Hemsley since November when he played at Trick in his hometown of Newcastle.

The aim of bebé, in Ben’s words, is to create a vehicle to ‘delve deeper, pushing the boundaries’ in genres he loves: rave, trance and house. He also wants to support emerging artists who share similar musical values and influences with the new imprint.

“I can’t put into words how excited I am to launch my own label,” says Ben. “bebé is a label with a single mission to revitalise the rave and trance sound that I love so much, bringing it into the 21st century.

“I’ve been toying with the idea of this for a while and sometimes I had some self-doubt that it may be too early in my career to do it. But with all these new tunes I’ve been writing and the style of them, it felt like the perfect time. Not to mention all the unreleased tracks I get sent from like-minded artists that are banging, which I’d love to get behind and support!”

‘EP1’ proves Ben’s aim succinctly: ‘Tu Amor’ has been played at his shows across Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and his Scotland tour.
