Snowbombing takeover in The Lab LDN with Emerald

This Friday we’re getting you in the mood for Snowbombing's 20th birthday with Emerald at the helm.

As the host of Rinse FM’s Drive Time show, her essential selections in the field of “beats, bass and bounce from across the club spectrum” make London afternoons and commutes a brighter place.

She’s also a regular on the club and festival circuit with gigs at the likes of fabric and Glastonbury under her belt. In control of a party she spins homegrown styles like UK funky and garage alongside international flavours from Brazil and Portugal, and dancehall. Her ability to blend party-starting styles also landed her the role of tour DJ for rap star M.I.A.

Snowbombing takes place in Mayrhofen, Austria, from Monday April 8 to Saturday April 13. The festival is marking its 20th anniversary this year with a stellar line-up featuring the likes of Stormzy, The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Bicep, Andy C, Hannah Wants, Eats Everything, Skream, George Fitzgerald, Camelphat, Moxie, Denis Sulta and more, plus Stormzy's exclusive #Merky takeover of two parties at the festival. To match the thrills of the music, there's endless opportunities to try skiing or snowboarding, relax in the luscious spas & saunas and give alpine yoga a go, alongside the igloo raves and woodland parties. For 2019, The Lab LDN will also shine a light on talented visual artists. This week's come courtesy of Mixmag's own Lawrence Abbott. The *London-based fine artist, performance artist and creative designer is the mastermind behind hits like turning your favourite album artworks into football shirts, your favourite festival line-ups into acid house flyers, your favourite album covers into nike sneakers; transforming the life stories of Idris Elba and Danny Rampling into amazing** *animations; as well as taking commissions such as designing the identity for club night Chunk and tour visuals for DEBONAIR.
