The Gorillaz could be just two weeks away from finishing their new album.

In addition, band member Noodle has just joined the Jaguar Racing team in a new video.

The forthcoming album from Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s Gorillaz project is arguably the most anticipated release in recent history and with each piece of news that surfaces, the anticipation for the coveted album grows. “Two weeks left of recording and the album’s finished," Albarn reportedly recently said, which was enough to get fans riled up for the release.

Albarn was also revealed to be in the studio with English producer Two Inch Punch, who has produced material for Sam Smith, Jessie Ware and Brian Eno, among others. This adds to the list of confirmed collaborators that include De La Soul, Snoop Dogg, composer Jean Michel-Jarre and Vic Mensa.

As Hewlett stated back in June, the forthcoming album is still expected to land in 2017, but with Gorillaz, it’s difficult to know for sure.

In other Gorillaz related news, band member Noodle has been named “global ambassador” for luxury car company Jaguar and is the star of a new campaign video directed by Jamie Hewlett.

Watch the short film below, which features Noodle driving Jaguar’s Formula E race car.
