Gorillaz album pushed back to 2017
Jamie Hewlett has described the LP as "really fucking special"
Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett has revealed the virtual band will release their fifth album next year.
He had previously suggested the record would be released in 2016, but according to fan page GorillazNorthAmerica has now said the release will come in 2017, stating that the record is “special, really fucking special” and “can't be rushed.”
Last month a photo of Vic Mensa in the studio with Damon Albarn was uploaded to Instagram by Gorillaz collaborator Remi Kabaka suggesting the Chicago-born rapper may feature on the full-length, while a guest spot from the late David Bowie was hinted at by Hewlett last December. Should be worth the wait!
