Mixmag returns to London for 'Big in the Bass' night
Drop to the ground, take cover under a sturdy table and hold on until the shaking stops. This is it. The final London party before Mixmag set’s off around the UK on the huge Mixmag club tour in September. And this time around it’s all about bass.
From the kingdoms of electro, drum ‘n’ bass, dub-step, house and UK funky we’ve assembled the biggest bassiest beasts around.
We’ve got a live set from the smokin’ hot Basque electro five piece Crystal Fighters, plus DJ sets from London’s lords of indie dance – The Filthy Dukes, the hottest rising star in drum and bass - Sub Focus, original dubstep legends Hatcha and N Type, a live PA from the don of the UK Funky sound, Donae’o, junglist supreme DJ Zinc and the emotive, soulful d’n’b of rising star Technicolour, the superfresh electro of Boy 8 Bit, the party starting genius of Radio One’s Jaymo and Andy George, the dubbed out madness of High Rankin as well as People Are Germs and the Union DJs.
It's a multi room, soundsystem-enhanced, rave valhalla complete with outdoor garden for you shmokies.
This is room shaking, floor trembling, speaker punishing, party rocking mayhem. This is a solid ten on the Richter scale.

Pendulum see sales spike after Glastonbury performance
Pendulum saw their sales rocket by over 900% following their televised sunset performance.
According to Amazon, the bands sales were up by 909%, the sharpest rise for any artsist performing at Glastonbury this weekend.
Other big winners included Franz Ferdinand (470%), Passion Pit (341%), Bloc Party (295%) and Status Quo (788%).
Julian Monaghan, Head of Music Buying at Amazon.co.uk said “With vast amounts of TV, radio and press coverage, a big performance can generate huge rises in sales for the artists concerned – and this year is no different. Ministry of Sound boss says he made club 'drug free'
The Mail on Sunday is certainly not our normal weekend reading but there was an article which caught our eye. Written by James Palumbo, head honcho of Ministry of Sound, in it he recalls how he personally cleaned up the drug dealing in his club.
In a self written article, Palumbo recalls "The police had supplied us with a panic alarm and we were told armed units would respond within minutes at the first sign of trouble. The biggest threat was a drive-by shooting. This might not even involve one of the old door team but some hothead they put up to it. I don't mind admitting I was terrified as I warily eyed passing cars."

Above and Beyond have put their faces to the Royal National Institue for the Deaf's 'Don't Lose The Music' campaign.
With festival season in full swing, the RNID have asked us to remind you lot that festival's sound levels can exceed 110dB – the equivalent of an aircraft taking off. Don’t Lose the Music warns that listening to music too loud for too long can cause permanent damage to your ears, resulting in problems such as tinnitus and hearing loss.
