Sascha Borchardt aka Monoloc has never really stuck to one style. Sure he's a techno artist by definition but he creates an ever-changing sound that encompasses ambient and dub tendencies while embracing what makes a dancefloor cut.
Releases on Smallroom, Hotflush, Soma and several appearances on CLR, including his debut album 'Drift' which dropped in 2012, have propelled Monoloc into the spotlight and we're always excited to see what he has in store next.
Well it seems that a second album is in store and the imminent release of 'The Untold Way' will bring more side-winding, brain-melting techno to the forefront. For this LP, Borchardt heads over to Rødhåd's increasingly-impressive Dystopian label and we couldn't think of a more perfect fit.
Rødhåd's label has gone from strength-to-strength recently and the trajectory of the imprint has sky-rocketed in line with the German's booming popularity. Drumcell, Alex.Do and John Hester have all dazzled with EPs this year but it's Monoloc's album that's the label's jewell in the crown.
You can stream the premiere of 'Muted' that's been taken from 'The Untold Way' and unsurprisingly it's a slab of cold, metalic techno that punches and slams with malicious intent. Exciting times for Borchardt and indeed Dystopian.
'The Untold Way' will be released via Dystopian on November 4 and will by distributed by Kompakt, you can preorder here
