Premiere: Maelstrom delivers eerie atmospherics wondering ‘Where Is Nin’

French producer Maelstrom presents his debut album as the future of techno, featuring the eerie electronic excursion ‘Where Is Nin’.

Following releases on Bromance, Zone, BNR and his own RAAR, Maelstrom is finally set to reveal his first full length album titled ‘Her Empty Eyes’. He’s been experimenting with self-hypnosis as of late, which has resulted in a focused project veering toward the surreal realm of electronic music.

Maelstrom offered insight on how the album represents somewhat of a narrative: “As a kid I was a voracious reader. I used to live in stories. I used to go to sleep dreaming I’d wake up inside one of them. Sometimes I still do, and this album has been recorded inside one of these dreams.”

‘Where Is Nin’, a track that progresses with echoing atmospherics and dark tones, comes later in the album. Short stabs of acid complete the enveloping track and features Maelstrom’s distinct sound design.

‘Her Empty Eyes’ is set for release on May 19 via RAAR.
