Peggy Gou shares 'Shero' as part of the UN's women's initiative HeForShe

Mixmag cover star Peggy Gou has announced that she will be stepping up to help the UN with its HeForShe gender equality campaign.

The initiative aims to bring educational programs to various female populations around the world and create safe online spaces for women. Organized by UN Women, HeForShe's mission is to build "a systematic approach and targeted platform where a global audience can engage and become change agents for the achievement of gender equality in our lifetime".

Peggy Gou's new track 'Shero' will be featured on the two-track release 'Needs004 x UN present HeForShe' which will also feature a track titled 'Throwdown' by Juju & Jordash. The release will be available on June 11 and all profits will go directly to this worthwhile campaign.

In an emailed statement, Gou tells the publication: "'Shero' is one of the most hypnotic beats I've made so far. It has melodic arpeggios moving all around, on a repetitive drum groove. The track means a lot to me having been chosen for the #HeForShe gender equality campaign for UN Women which I’m extremely proud and grateful to be a part of."
