Copout

Icy weaponry straight from the Big Apple

Copout

Copout's production are cold-blooded and fearless.

Last year's 'Bardo' EP on London label Liminal Sounds is a pretty spot-on example of these attributes: 'Further' sounds like a ticking time bomb on speed, 'Slate' resembles a thunderstorm of artillery and 'Timecode' is an avalanche of chills.

Basically, his music isn't for the faint-hearted and those cautious to devilish, freakish and frightening sounds should steer well clear. Or not, because this guy's got an insane amount of nasty club weaponry in his locker and you'd be silly to pass up on it.

Purple Tape Pedigree is the label he steps up to next with the 'Forces' EP. Again, Copout comes forward with a release that pulls no punches - fierce and feisty tracks bursting with aggression. We've got the first play of 'Helix', a deadly, creeping grime instrumental with a temperature way below the healthy recommendation. Don't worry, though, this tune's well and truly alive.

The 'Forces' EP is out digitally and on vinyl on June 24
