Carl Cox launches new label for live electronic artists

Carl Cox has announced a new label which will focus on live electronic acts.

ASW (Awesome Soundwave) launches with an album from fellow label-head Christoper Coe, aka Digital Primate, inspired by the mountainous, misty landscapes of the Melbourne-based artist's home in County Mayo, Ireland.

Speaking of the label, Cox said: "the idea is to bring together a whole plethora of amazing producers and would-be live acts in the realms of electronic music and bring them to the forefront of where we are to take the music into the future.

"My idea was to create a label where artists who actually can make their music live, and perform their music live, have a stable where they can be themselves, be able to create the music without any boundaries and to feel free in the sense of releasing music without prejudice in any way, shape or form."

Coe's 'MNTNS of SLNC' conceptual album will be released in May, with two remix EPs also on the cards through ASW. Stream 'Headland,' which Coxy featured in his huge BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix earlier this month, below.

Tracklist:
01. Maumtrasna
02. They Walk, The Mountains
03. Let It Go
04. Mountain Burial
05. Headland
06. Mountain of Grooves
07. Cliff Face
08. Ancient Prayers
