500 ravers crashed a Surrey office block on Saturday night

The Dorking residents kind of loved it

This year we’ve had raves in Newcastle sewers, London primary schools and Croydon. But this weekend it was the sheltered residents of Dorking, Surrey that got a taste of Britain’s great summer pastime.

Beginning in an office block at around 10pm on Saturday, police were called to the venue at midnight with 500 people removed from the premises. However, some hardy ravers headed along to the Meadowbank Recreation Ground for the afters, catching the attention of local residents.

Behaviour reportedly included drugs offered through a garden gate, a topless man and chants of ‘oggy oggy oggy’. Unknown to most, Dorking is clearly the UK’s hottest nightlife spot.

Residents took to social media to make dry gags about the situation, while secretly happy they had something to do on a Saturday night.
