Unum, first festival with rapid COVID-testing, will “100%” happen this summer

Unum, the first festival with rapid COVID-19 testing, has announced its headliners.

The festival is set to take place in Albania across June 3 to 7 this summer. Albania is the first country in the world to approve testing to ensure social and cultural events can go ahead.

Artists set to place include Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, tINI, Sonja Moonear, Raresh, Dyed Soundorom, Priku and Praslea.

The organisers said: "This event will 100% take place in a responsible way and COVID secure fashion as it has full government approval, regardless of restrictions in other countries. So even if it has to become an event for just locals or those able to travel, then this is what will happen.

“This is thanks to Swallow Events, our partners in this, providing their rapid testing service for the festival to ensure everyone who enters is tested and virus-free beforehand. We are taking all measures required to ensure safety measures are followed at all times and there will be zero tolerance on this matter”.

Primavera Sound recently hailed a successful rapid COVID-testing event with more than 1,000 people and no social distancing, which no infections were recorded in the wake of.

Taking place in the coastal town of Shengjin on the Albanian Riviera, Unum Festival's setting serves up sandy beaches and a backing of the Albanian Alps.

Other artists booked to play include Shaun Reeves, Cesar Merveille, Leon, Nikola Vemic, And.Re, Cap, Alex Kostic, Rayo, Nikifor, Nemax, Fogg, George Adi, Hajdar Berisha, Hiroko Yamamura, Nikola Vemic, Dona K, Franco Cinelli, with more to be announced. There will also be body painting, yoga, a game zone, tattoo area, chill out zone, an ARTizan market with craft products, and more.

Tickets are on sale now here, with the first release priced at €139 for international visitors. All tickets purchased will be protected by Festicket, so if patrons are unable to make it they will be refunded. Accommodation can also be booked through the festival here.
