A competition is looking for the next UK garage superstar

London Sound Academy is partnering with Garage People to find the next big star in UK garage by launching a mixtape competition.

The competition winner will then be given time to perform a set at E1 London, warming up for the likes of Bklava, Champion, Drinks on Me, and more.

The London Sound Academy has called this chance a “career-changing opportunity” for musicians to break through into the expanding industry.

Mixes will be judged by LSA and garage DJ and producer Ollie Rant, on criteria such as beat-matching, timing, EQ'ing and harmonics. They are also judging more technical and advanced skills such as dexterity including UKG style cutting and FX.

The LSA has stressed that equality and representation are at the core of what they do and that they welcome anyone over the age of 18 to apply.
