A new mini-documentary on Soichi Terada, one of Japan’s most iconic house music fixtures, has been released via toco toco TV.

Starting from the inception of his music label Far East Recordings in 1988, the 11-minute documentary details Terada’s career as a music composer for the videogame Ape Escape, his introduction to Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage in New York, video game bars and how to find inspiration in Tokyo.

Terada also touches on how Rush Hour’s hit release of ‘Sounds of the Far East’, a reissue compilation of Terada's various house titles which were made over 24 years ago, has brought great joy into his life and inspired him to tour and play live once again.

You can watch the documentary below.
