Dubstep and purple pioneer Joker has released his first solo work in six years.
The two singles, 'Juggernaut' and 'S Wave', have just been released via the producer's imprint Kapsize — with fans being given the option to buy them digitally, or to order a two-side limited edition black vinyl.
The Bristol-based artist - real name Liam Sylvester McLean - is best known as a genre innovator, after being one of the pioneers of purple after experimenting with grime and dubstep.

In 2007 Joker released his EP ‘Kapsize’, later becoming the name of his imprint which he has continued to release work under — including these recent singles.
This new work from Joker has already seen support from Benji B on his Radio 1 show and Sir Spyro on Radio 1Xtra.
McLean's last solo work was in 2018, when he celebrated a decade of his label Kapsize with three 12” double-track releases.

On top of making new music, Joker is also due to share his 2009 set at Sònar on the Mary Anne Hobbs stage as part of the Never Sleep charity tape series.
The mix is described as: “timeless, cutting edge and a slight hint of nostalgia for any Sónar Festival aficionados”.
All proceeds from the archival mix will be going towards Bristol-based charity The Cause which helps support young locals in the creative arts. Pre-order the mix here which is set to be released March 29.
Last year saw Joker work with GRAMMY-winning artist Skrillex on the production work of ‘Tears’ which featured on the album ‘Quest For Fire’.
