BBC Radio DJ Mary Anne Hobbs: "I'd rather gnaw my own leg off than go to Ibiza"
Ouch
BBC Radio 6 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs recently dug through her records for a feature with The Guardian but ended up leaving quite the impression with one statement about a track she supplied for the prompt: "The track I'd play at sunset in Ibiza".
"I'd rather gnaw my own leg off than go to Ibiza," she proclaimed, supplying the track 'Four Hands' by Nils Frahm. "But if you asked the same question about Sonar, I’d go for a little piano from Nils."
There's no doubt that Ibiza is quite the controversial party destination (charging patrons €12 for water bottles to questionable and substantial sums of money circulating throughout the island's mega clubs) but it's not often that someone in the music industry goes public with their dissenting opinion on the White Isle.
Our guess is we won't be seeing Hobbs enjoying Hierbas at Café Mambo anytime soon, though.
