Planetary Assault Systems reworks his huge techno record 'In From The Night'

Planetary Assault Systems has returned with three reworks of his 1993 techno hit 'In From The Night'.

Originally housed on 'Planetary Funk Vol 1 EP' via Peacefrog, the update resides on his own imprint Mote-Evolver, with two self-made reworks and a thunderous collaborative remix of the track from Adam Beyer and Wehbba.

Their remix adds even greater ferocity behind the track's pulsating drum-beats, with tense synth-pattern loops evolving to add an edgier cut to the track as it progresses.

The first 'P.A.S Edit' found on the flip-side is a refined edition of the original, laid with textured synth patterns and intense claps, with the 'P.A.S Live Edit' adding broken patterns and more searing synths to stab across the track and throughout.

"It was a real surprise when Adam and Webbha sent us this huge rework of 'In From the Night' out of the blue and I was properly blown away," Planetary Assault Systems aka Luke Slater tells Mixmag. "It's the best peak-time rework of it I could ever imagine which left me deciding to take the slow boil approach of some more edits for the other side plus a P.A.S. live jam recording."

On his and Beyer's remix, Wehbba explains his excitement at working on the track: "'In From The Night' is one of the tracks that encompasses all of the great qualities of Luke Slater’s music. It’s funky, it’s driving, it’s futuristic, it’s catchy without the cheese, it’s that kind of ear worm that outlasts generations. It’s mind boggling in a way: if I could go back in time and tell 20 year old Rodolfo he’d be in the studio jamming with Adam Beyer, having a go at a Planetary Assault Systems classic some years later, he’d never believe me and tell me to go fuck myself. But it happened. So fuck you 20 year old Wehbba, it couldn’t have turned out any better, and I’m extremely proud of this project."
