Wata Igarashi to release new album via Dekmantel, ‘My Supernova’
Wata Igarashi has announced his first techno album on Dekmantel UFO will be reealsed on November 7.
Titled ‘My Supernova’, the nine-track release showcases his mastery of psychedelic production and potent rhythms.
The Japanese artist described it as “a self-portrait of me in 2025”, representing a shift in his lifestyle and location following a move to Amsterdam two years ago, including increased touring.
He added: “Creating a full-length techno album was both a dream and a challenge. I wanted it to take the listener on a journey from beginning to end, with each track forming part of a larger story. With this record I feel I was able to give 120 percent of myself, shaping my own deep and personal universe of sound. More than anything, this album feels like the most complete statement of my techno so far, the culmination of everything I have learned and carried with me on the dance floor until now. It is cosmic, psychedelic, emotional, and immersive. Like a supernova, I wanted it to burst with energy and light, while also carrying a fleeting, fragile beauty.”
